The Employment Insurance Board of Appeal (EI BOA) decides first-level appeals related to Employment Insurance claims. Decisions issued by the EI BOA after April 1, 2026, are published in this decision database. Social Security Tribunal Decisions

Prior to the implementation of the Employment Insurance Board of Appeal (EI BOA) on April 1, 2026, first level appeals were processed through the Social Security Tribunal (SST) of Canada. Now that the EI BOA has launched, the SST will no longer process first-level appeals; however, any appeals filed before this date will still be handled by the SST. The SST will continue to review second-level appeals through its Appeal Division.
